Najmul Hossain Shanto has officially stepped down as the T20I captain of Bangladesh's T20I side.
Shanto has told BCB President Faruque Ahmed that he does not want to be the T20 captain. He is interested in continuing in the ODI and Test formats.
Faruque Ahmed said, “Shanto finally told us that he won’t lead in the T20Is and we accepted it. “If there is no injury issue Najmul will remain the captain in Test and ODIs.”
Bangladesh will play the Champions Trophy in February. Zimbabwe will come to play a full series in March. The name of the T20 captain will be confirmed then.
