Shahadat bags 4 wickets while Rony hits 9th ton

Sports Correspondent: Dhaka Division took a lead of 272 runs against Chattogram Division with the brilliant performance of Shahadat Hossain Razib and Rony Talukder in a Tier-2 encounter of the Walton 20th National Cricket League (NCL) at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.

For Dhaka Division, Shahadat Hossain took 4 wickets while Rony struck century.

In chase 238 runs set by Dhaka Division, Chattogram were all out at 142. With a lead of 96 runs, Dhaka launched the overnight game and added 172 more runs, ending the day 2 on Tuesday. Rony (100) and Abdul Majid (66) are on the crease.

On Monday, Dhaka pacer Shahadat Hossain took two early wickets of Irfan Shukkur and Mominul Haque on ducks as Chattogram ended the day on 25 for 2.

On Tuesday, he bagged two more wickets of Tasamul Haque and Mahidul Islam Angkan, collapsing the Chattogram top order.

Besides, Mosharraf Hossain Rubel hit two wickets while Sharif, Apu and Shuvagoto Hom shared a wicket each.

For Chattogram, Sadikur Rahman 30 runs, which was best for team, before he returned to the pavilion by run out.

Middle-order Sayeed Sarkar and Mohammad Safiuddin struck 26 and 20 runs respectively.

With the lead, Dhaka’s openers started the day 2 boldly and reached their milestones.

Rony hit his ninth first-class century while right-arm Majid struck sixteenth first-class fifty.
