Sports Desk: Bangladesh ended the opening day for 259 runs losing five wickets in the first innings of the second and final test match against the visiting West Indies at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur in Dhaka on Friday.
All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan hit the 24th Test career fifty in the innings. He reached the half-century in the 84th over off Jomel Warrican’s delivery when Bangladesh score was 244/5.
Tigers ended the day 1 when Shakib reached 55. Mahmudullah is also at the crease with 31 runs. The duo will start the overnight match at 9:30am on Saturday.
Meanwhile, debutant Shadman Islam hit a brilliant innings of 76 runs with six boundaries.
