South Africa cricket legend Herschelle Herman Gibbs, head coach of Sylhter Thunders, has noticed major problems behind poor performance cricketers in Bangladesh. That is language barrier.
He said, “Local (Bangladesh) cricketers cannot understand what I say. They nod their heads, but do not understand what I really try to make them understand. They do not ask me it again.”
“This is a major problem for local cricketers. Many of them cannot understand English. And for me, it is very difficult to explain a lot of things to them and it frustrates me,” he said.
Gibbs said, “I see they are nodding their heads when I speak. But I can realize they cannot catch it. They are very temperamental, but they need to overcome language barriers for better performance.”
