The Bangladesh cricket team arrived in Dhaka at early hours of Tuesday by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight after concluding the three-match T20I series.
The special direct flight from Lahore to Dhaka landed at 3:00am at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Bangladesh could not manage a win in the tour as they lost the series 0-2 to the hosts with the last match being abandoned without a ball being bowled. Heavy rainfall led to cancelling the third T20I. The management decided to return home earlier.
The first T20I between the two sides were close. Pakistan chased down a target of 143 in the last over with 5 wickets in hand. However, the second T20I on the next day was under complete domination by Pakistan. Skipper Babar Azam and veteran Mohammad Hafeez’s fifties guided Pakistan to a nine-wicket victory.
Bangladesh players and support stuffs were amidst high security in Pakistan after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) assured the tourists of ‘Presidential’ security level.
The Tigers will stay in Bangladesh for about another ten days before the leave for Pakistan again for the first Test. Rawalpindi will host the match on February 7-11. Bangladesh will tour again in April, for one-off ODI and the second Test. The Test series is a part of World Test Championship.
