After Litton, KKR picks up Shakib in IPL auction

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) picked up Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction after wicket-keeper batsman Litton Kumar Das on Friday (December 23).

Shakib was bought with the base price of 1.5 lakh INR while Litton with 50 lakh INR in the second call. However, they both were unsold in the first call.

With this, Shakib is going to play for Kolkata for the eighth time. He has played regularly in the team since 2011. The Bangladesh superstar played a major role in making Kolkata champions in 2012 and 2014.

Shakib is going to play the top franchise league for the 10th time. Before being joined Kolkata, he played for Sunrisers Hyderabad for two editions.
