Bangladesh reach 2nd round beating Maldives

Bangladesh has reached the second round of 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier after beating hosts Maldives by 2-1 on Tuesday.
Bangladesh’s victory over Maldives at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in the reverse fixture, has given the chance.
They will take on big teams like Australia, Lebanon and Palestine in the second round.
Earlier, they made a 1-1 draw against Maldives in the first leg of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Male National Stadium.
Substitute Saad Uddin scored with his first touch to help Bangladesh salvage.
Bangladesh have been playing great football in recent times under a Spanish coach, especially Bangladesh confirmed the semi by defeating Maldives in SAFF Championship.
