Afghanistan beat Sri Lanka by 7 wickets

Afghanistan defeated Sri Lanka by seven wickets in Pune on Monday to record their third win of the World Cup.

They have already defeated England by 69 runs and Pakistan by eight wickets this World Cup.

Sri Lanka produced a dull batting effort to get bundled out for 241.

They were rocked by pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi who grabbed four wickets conceding just 34 runs in his quota of 10 overs.

After a disciplined bowling display, Afghanistan finished on 242-3 with Azmatullah Omarzai unbeaten on 73 and captain Hashmatullah Shahidi 58 not out, the pair sharing an unbroken stand of 111.
